This research analyzes the contribution of Environmental Education in mitigating the effects of drinking water scarcity on the lives of women in the Mulotane neighborhood in Maputo Province. The investigation adopted a qualitative approach, drawing on participatory bibliographic research and case study methodology, using semi-structured interviews and direct observation. Non-probability convenience sampling was employed, selecting 21 participants from a population of 60 women residents at Mulotane, comprising 20 women and one male block leader. The results reveal that drinking water scarcity stems from factors such as poor water and sanitation, underground rocks that hinder the drilling of boreholes, insufficient investment in the FIPAG supply network, low rainfall, and high temperatures. Women and girls bear the primary responsibility for obtaining and managing water, a situation analyzed through the lens of ecofeminist theories and social construction. No community-based Environmental Education practices were identified; individual actions prevailed, such as home water treatment, rational water use, and rainwater harvesting all still of limited effectiveness. The study recommends the implementation of structural projects, such as the installation of a water supply substation and water desalination, combined with Environmental Education strategies that promote talks on rational water use, water treatment, and awareness-raising around gender equality and social justice
